Welcome to the 2022-23 school year!
It’s wonderful to see familiar faces and welcome new scholars and families to the district. We can never say thank you enough to all of our families for entrusting us with your scholars’ education and wellbeing.
We take seriously the responsibility of helping shape the leaders of today and tomorrow as education is constantly evolving. Over the summer, Youngstown City School teachers and administrators met to prepare for the new year. Our focus is always on teaching and learning, with an emphasis on current best practices. Their professional development provides a knowledge base they bring into our schools, which contributes to the success of all.
I love the beginning of the school year because not only do we see scholars again, but it is an opportunity to introduce what’s new in the district. One of the largest capital improvement projects we’ve had in some time is installing new artificial field turf in the historic Rayen Stadium. I encourage you to stop and visit to see this beautiful field for yourself in the vicinity of Harding Elementary at 1903 Cordova Avenue.
At Youngstown City School District, we believe in embracing the future and change that will help us serve our scholars. We’ve revamped our website and will introduce a mobile app as a stronger outlet to reach you. It’s another way the district is enhancing our communications, so we are staying transparent and making sure you’re aware everything YCSD.
